Soul

Soul (R&B)
Soul music is a combination of R&B and gospel music that began in the late 1950s in the United States. While Soul has a lot in common with R&B, its differences include its use of gospel-music devices and its greater emphasis on vocalists. Popular artists include Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding and Marvin Gaye.
