Motown

Motown (R&B)
Motown is an upbeat, often pop-influenced style of rhythm and blues associated with the city of Detroit and with numerous Black vocalists and vocal groups such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie WOnder and The Jackson 5. Their music was extremely popular in the 1960s and 70s, characterized by compact, danceable arrangements.
