Contemporary Country

Contemporary Country (Country)
Contemporary country music is a subgenre of country music that was developed in the 1970s through the 1990s by singer-songwriters such as Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard. Contemporary country artists retain a traditional vocal style, and lyrics tend to focus on themes of the working class, modern farm machinery, alcohol, reminiscence of older times, and an extremely strong sense of American patriotism.
